About me…Sarah Hogg

Hello, I’m Sarah and I’m the practice owner of Darwin Creative Therapy. I’m an accredited Social Worker and Creative Arts Therapist (AThR). I’m a current professional member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and of The Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA).

A new studio space is available at Darwin Creative Therapy that offers clients sessions in person to provide therapeutic arts practice interventions and approaches while working alongside all developmental ages. An invitation into a safe space to to slow down, reflect and feel into the arts through exploration alongside materials.

You don’t need to be good at art! Arts therapy is for everyone - for all ages and stages of life. Holding space for exploration when images say what words cannot. To feel seen, heard and valued.

As an arts therapist I'm here to support you - and you find your own ways to express yourself - maybe mark making, collaging, modelling - using your imagination - you can scribble!

Arts therapy is for everyone - for all ages and all stages of life!!

It can help people in many ways like those struggling with trauma, big life shifts, physical health condition or disabilities. Those who are non verbal or don’t have English as their first language, substance misuse or negotiating mental health difficulties. You can explore parts of your identity and how they influence your experiences of the world.

How does this help me? Our feelings thoughts and experiences can sometimes be the hardest things to express, they can become confused, overpowering, painful or detached from us.

As an arts therapist I aim to create a space to explore all of you…even the most challenging parts in a way that feels safe! Using arts materials offers you a different language to communicate and learn more about yourself when other ways don’t quite fit!

In addition, Darwin Creative Therapy also offers Professional Supervision and Counselling to those seeking my qualified experience, in a supportive and reflective space.

I’ve been part of the Territory community for over 20 years and I’m dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of individuals and families.

Please contact Sarah at darwincreativetherapy@gmail.com to arrange an initial complimentary 15mins phone consultation.
